🔹 Certification
Participants will receive a certificate of professional development (6 academic hours / 0.2 ECTS credits and 10 BPR points).
To improve the competence of clinical speech therapists and rehabilitation specialists in the interdisciplinary management of patients with dysphagia; show the patient’s path from the emergency room to discharge with restored swallowing function through a clinical case; provide practical algorithms for examination, diagnosis, therapy planning, and interdisciplinary coordination.
🔹 Participants
The event will be attended by:
• lecturers and researchers from leading speech therapy departments in Ukraine;
• speech therapists practicing in clinical hospitals;
• specialists from multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams (MDRT);
• specialists from City Hospital No. 4 in Mykolaiv.
🔹 Program content
The webinar consists of three modules covering key aspects of clinical speech therapy and neurorehabilitation:
MODULE 1. Neuroanatomical aspects of swallowing disorders
• Central and peripheral regulation of swallowing
• Mechanisms of disorders in CNS lesions
• Clinical manifestations of dysphagia in stroke, traumatic brain injury, neurodegenerative processes
MODULE 2. Clinical speech therapy for dysphagia
• Algorithm for speech therapy assessment of swallowing
• Correction methods: positional, manual, sensorimotor, electrostimulation
• Planning therapy as part of MDT
MODULE 3. Clinical case: the path of a patient with dysphagia at City Hospital No. 4 in Mykolaiv
• Interaction between specialists from the moment of hospitalization to discharge
• Practical interventions by a speech therapist
• Demonstration of rehabilitation results — restoration of safe swallowing
🔹 Practical format
The webinar will present a real clinical case from the practice of the multidisciplinary team at City Hospital No. 4 in Mykolaiv. Participants will be able to observe the patient’s entire journey: from the emergency room to discharge from rehabilitation with restored swallowing function.
