To improve the competence of clinical speech therapists and rehabilitation specialists in the interdisciplinary management of patients with dysphagia; show the patient’s path from the emergency room to discharge with restored swallowing function through a clinical case; provide practical algorithms for examination, diagnosis, therapy planning and interdisciplinary coordination.

🔹 Key audience:

clinical speech therapists, neurologists, physical and rehabilitation medicine doctors, nurses in departments caring for patients with swallowing disorders, department heads, senior students, representatives of the MDCR and social support institutions.

🔹 Schedule:

• 10:15 – 11:00 — Module 1. Neuroanatomical aspects of swallowing disorders due to local brain damage (45 min)

Lecturer: Natalia Gavrilova, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Speech Therapy and Special Methods at Kamyanets-Podilsky University named after Ohiienko (45 min.)

• 11:00 – 14:00 — Module 2. Clinical speech therapy for swallowing disorders (180 min)

Topic: The role of a clinical speech therapist in restoring swallowing in patients with dysphagia

Lecturer: Olena Yurievna Romas, clinical speech therapist, chair of the clinical committee of the AKLU NGO;

Topic: Speech therapy massage in clinical speech therapy

Lecturer: Natalia Saydalimova, medical psychologist, clinical speech therapist at the hospital for war veterans in Mykolaiv;

Topic: Neurosensory electrostimulation for dysphagia.

Lecturer: Yulia Rudnytska, clinical speech therapist at the private centre ‘Dzherelo Life’ in Odesa, chair of the public relations committee of the NGO ACLU;

Topic: Chewing and swallowing disorders in children with speech disorders

Lecturer: Olga Viktorivna Litvinova, clinical speech therapist, founder and director of Olga Litvinova’s Speech Correction Centre ‘Sunflower’ in Mykolaiv;

Topic: Nutritional support for patients in the acute phase of stroke.

Lecturer: Pavlo Lebedynets, neurologist, head of the stroke department, assistant professor of the Department of Neurology and Paediatric Neurology at Kharkiv National Medical University; Member of the European Stroke Organisation; Member of the Ukrainian Society of Stroke Medicine; Master’s student in stroke medicine; Member of the working groups of the National Health Service of Ukraine.
